Innovations

Commitment to innovation.

At The Weitz Company, we pride ourselves on being at the forefront of innovation. Our dedication to technological advancement applies to the latest in construction trends, but also extends to our implementation of the best products, practices and services available.

Lean Construction —

Lean is a shift in our thought process towards collaborative project efficiency and quality. It promotes delivering a project to our clients while maximizing value, minimizing waste and pursuing perfection. With a top-down commitment and bottom-up action, Lean will provide constant simplification of processes, encourage input and collaboration from all stakeholders, decrease waste, increase efficiency and create predictable workflow.

BIM —

BIM (Building Information Modeling) is an innovative digital technology that further enhances our project management capabilities. It allows us to create a virtual building model by simulating the construction of a project before it’s built. This 3D model generates a variety of vital project information — including detection of the building’s system conflicts — to eliminate waste, improve project efficiency and accelerate the overall construction process.

LEED™ —

The USGBC (United States Green Building Council) encourages environmentally friendly design and construction by providing LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification guidelines for buildings and homes. As a member of USGBC, Weitz is proud to make a meaningful contribution to our environment by actively promoting green building issues and consumer awareness.  Engineering News Record ranked Weitz #17 of the "Top 100 Green Contractors" with green revenues of $349 million.

e-PCS —

e-PCS gives our customers the ability to deploy the solution quickly, manage documents securely, enhance collaboration and workflow between individuals and workgroups, and maintain a powerful, searchable archive. e-PCS improves a facility’s operations and business processes by centrally managing critical information in real-time.

Electronic Construction Closeout™ (ECC™) —

ECC™ is a point-in-time tool that captures and electronically archives documentation, which can then be centrally managed. The ECC™ process flags closeout documentation in online archives, provides scanning and indexing services for paper and ad-hoc requirements, and provides online media-based archiving with search and retrieve capabilities.
